This semesters studio is focused on the idea of tangled structures—massively distributed networks made up of relatively weak cross-linked fibrous components that are the dominant mode of formation of structures in nature.
Here are some types of the frame.
ReplyDeleteS1: This size is for the main pavilion or Aquarium.
S2: It could be used as small pavillion or restaurant.
S3: It coud be the bridge connect the individual pavillion.
S4: The smallest structure, also used to connect the pavillion; the space enclosed could be a courtyard.
The size of the structure is based on the function; taking S4 for an example, the thiskness is 40cm, the structure laying on the ground could be used as a place for people to sit.
Thank you for explaining your model,
ReplyDeletea simple plan to have the overall view would be helpful.
The question is also how your urban design is connected with the surrounding urban texture.
Yes, this is absolutely the right direction. Keep developing in this direction. Try to understand the different aspects of the urban design, Which parts of the urban design do what? Which are the main circulation systems, which are the secondary circulation systems, what is volume what is void, how much mass are you creating? etc....
You have the right direction now, so keep on developing it...
I want to see further progress by Thursday night the latest.....especially about how your plans will look like.
I will send you the Layout for the Midterms later today.....
Try also to use the Ocean Shader in Mental ray to create a Realistic ocean. In fact want you to work also on the quality of your renderings. I posted a Link to the Mental Ray Handbook, which is very useful..
