This semesters studio is focused on the idea of tangled structures—massively distributed networks made up of relatively weak cross-linked fibrous components that are the dominant mode of formation of structures in nature.
You are moving into the right direction. I think it works much better now without the landfills you had before. What would be interesting is what happens when some of your bifurcations penetrate the sea level, and submerge into the water, creating maybe the structural support system for your bridges and Islands. I think it is also the right idea to use varying densities in the system.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing: The connection between the existing urban texture and your project is rather timid. Try to expand your structure more into the surrounding. It is sufficient that you expand a couple of your fibers into the surrounding urban texture. This can serve as "Guidelines" to the Expo site.
